Visa Information
Important Notes for Preparing Visa Application Materials
Although most countries have visa-free entry arrangements with Mongolia, foreign citizens visiting for official purposes such as participating in “The 5th JoPPP Impact Mongolia - 2026” international conference must apply for a K1 visa. Therefore, please prepare the following documents and submit them to joppp2026@etugen.edu.mn no later than October 1, 2026.
Required Documents
- Copy of Passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended date of entry.
- Passport-sized Photo
3.5 cm x 4.5 cm color photo.
- Address Verification (Choose one option below):
- If staying at a hotel, resort, camp, or guesthouse in Mongolia, provide the booking confirmation and payment receipt.
- If staying with a host (AirBnB), provide a letter of confirmation from the host, copy of the host’s national ID card (for Mongolian citizens) or passport copy (for foreign hosts), and supporting proof of address mentioned in the letter (e.g., property ownership certificate, rental agreement).
- If using the service of a travel agency, provide an official letter including the travel itinerary, accommodation details, and the locations of planned stays/camps.
Note: The visa fee is included in the registration fee. Etugen University will collect all submitted documents and officially process the visa request with the Immigration Agency of Mongolia on your behalf.

Mongolia Essentials
Welcome to Mongolia!
In November, winter begins in Ulaanbaatar. While it is cold outdoors, indoor spaces are well heated and warm, making them comfortable to stay in.
Weather
- Daytime: −10°C to −15°C
- Nighttime: −18°C to −20°C
- Humidity: 20–40% (very dry, visitors from warmer climates may experience dry skin, sore throat, or nasal dryness)
- Wind: 3–6 m/s, often cold
When the wind speed increases, it can feel colder than −20°C.
Sunrise & Sunset
- Sunrise: around 08:05
- Sunset: around 17:10
Clothing
- Outdoors: Warm winter coat, hat, gloves, scarf, and insulated thermal boots
- Indoors: 1–2 layers are usually sufficient (buildings, restaurants, and conference halls are well heated)
Important Notes
- Due to strong winds, avoid staying outdoors for long periods and dress warmly.
- Taxis and public transportation are safe, comfortable, and convenient for getting around the city.
- Food, services, and transportation facilities are well developed.
- Due to the dry climate, it is recommended to drink plenty of water and use moisturizer regularly.
